Pretty much all of our training has been along Linear Park and all the while we have been accompanied by the chatter, twitter, warble, squawk, screech, caroling, quacking, cawing and outright laughter of myriad birds; when we haven't felt much like walking it has always been the colours and chorus, the babies and the antics of the birds that have changed our 'drudgery' to joy. Sweet little reminders of God's amazing creation.

Day 25: Biduedo to Sarria 26.4kms

A cool morning as we are not far from walking in the clouds. Today was mostly walking down or rather winding down; not as onerous as we were led to believe and just beautiful. A lot of our paths today were through forests of huge old oak trees with soft forest floor. And cows, cows, cows. Not so much onerous as odorous! The villages of yesterday and today are little more than a dozen buildings, with cow sheds, and a bar which serves food and drink. If anything else, one or two albergues for passing pilgrims. We are in Sarria tonight which is a starting point for most pilgrims who will walk the minimum 100kms to be eligible for their Compostela.
Compostela: Written in Latin and loosely translated it is a document that states that the person named therein has come out of a pious (ie. Religious/spiritual) motivation to the Cathedral in Santiago to revere the remains of St. James.
Not sure I will fit that criteria, however for lesser mortals there is another certificate to show completion of the Camino. It will be decided for us at the end.
