Pretty much all of our training has been along Linear Park and all the while we have been accompanied by the chatter, twitter, warble, squawk, screech, caroling, quacking, cawing and outright laughter of myriad birds; when we haven't felt much like walking it has always been the colours and chorus, the babies and the antics of the birds that have changed our 'drudgery' to joy. Sweet little reminders of God's amazing creation.

Day 11: Burgos to Hontanas 32.6kms
What a beautiful and restorative view from our bedroom window, that is blessed. Architectural beauty. Words really fail to describe the Burgos Cathedral, the questions remain! Today was long, my feet tell me it was long although after the first 10kms the shooting knifelike pain in one toe that went all sorts of places, disappeared ... more questions of less import! As I write there is a huge alcohol infused cheer as another Brazillian pilgrim makes it to the albergue. We have been syncing with a large group of Brazillian and Canary Island pilgrims to which the group is added to each day I am sure; they are cheerful, have never ending energy for walking and Camino life. Life will be quieter and poorer tomorrow as the Canary Island group go home.
