Pretty much all of our training has been along Linear Park and all the while we have been accompanied by the chatter, twitter, warble, squawk, screech, caroling, quacking, cawing and outright laughter of myriad birds; when we haven't felt much like walking it has always been the colours and chorus, the babies and the antics of the birds that have changed our 'drudgery' to joy. Sweet little reminders of God's amazing creation.

Day 16: Sahagun to Leon 54.8kms in 35 minutes!

A Command decision was made ... train tickets to Leon for two sick pilgrims. I did spend some time on the journey thinking about those first men who thought that there should be another way of getting from A to B by means other than two or four legs. I am thankful that we have technology with us, although possibly frowned upon, as I was able to find a cheap hostel for us to fall into as soon as we got in to Leon. Ken had a very high fever so we slept all day ... I did do a little hunting and gathering to sustain us.
