Pretty much all of our training has been along Linear Park and all the while we have been accompanied by the chatter, twitter, warble, squawk, screech, caroling, quacking, cawing and outright laughter of myriad birds; when we haven't felt much like walking it has always been the colours and chorus, the babies and the antics of the birds that have changed our 'drudgery' to joy. Sweet little reminders of God's amazing creation.

Day 15: Caldadilla de la Cueza to Sahagun 22.4kms

It was Ken who walked that far; it was me in the taxi after 15.5kms. We met along the way another Danish girl who had a similar night to mine, heatstroke. Ken walked the last part of the day with a little Korean girl who had layers and layers of clothes on as she was getting over a cold and didn't want to get cold ... in searing heat. I fast forwarded to an albergue and fell into bed. Ken arrived in good spirits and went about hunting and gathering in the afternoon while I slept. It is a little sad that the amazing history of all of these villages is missed by us on this pilgrimage, falling into rest as soon as we get to them.
