Pretty much all of our training has been along Linear Park and all the while we have been accompanied by the chatter, twitter, warble, squawk, screech, caroling, quacking, cawing and outright laughter of myriad birds; when we haven't felt much like walking it has always been the colours and chorus, the babies and the antics of the birds that have changed our 'drudgery' to joy. Sweet little reminders of God's amazing creation.

Day 20: Astorga to Rabanal 21.9kms

We woke to the sound of monks singing at 6.30 am, music floating through the albergue. Feeling fragile but our first stop out of town for breakfast in a tiny village possibly called Murias de Rechivaldo is a blessing. An angel running a tiny place with the love of life shining out of her. A hand held, toast and honey, a pot of Machiavelli tea, and a hug amidst her serving dozens of other pilgrims, and all is right with the world. God is good.
