Pretty much all of our training has been along Linear Park and all the while we have been accompanied by the chatter, twitter, warble, squawk, screech, caroling, quacking, cawing and outright laughter of myriad birds; when we haven't felt much like walking it has always been the colours and chorus, the babies and the antics of the birds that have changed our 'drudgery' to joy. Sweet little reminders of God's amazing creation.

Day 2: Uterga to Lorca 21.9kms

We had a beautiful start to our day, lots of snails out in the early morning, carrying all on their backs ... I felt some affinity, also in the speed department! But the countryside of lush wheat fields and waves of barley was not what I expected. Saw our first sheep today. Heard their "sheep bells" first. Haven't seen any other livestock. Lots of ups and downs on well worn paths including Roman roads constructed 2,000 years ago. For those in the know, also haven't had any gypsy babies thrust upon us; they might have guessed I'd keep their gypsy babies! Again tonight we have beds in a lovely albergue, and I am looking forward to some sleep which is still in arrears. Still trying to figure how to load photos, have downloaded all sorts of programmes ... help!
