Pretty much all of our training has been along Linear Park and all the while we have been accompanied by the chatter, twitter, warble, squawk, screech, caroling, quacking, cawing and outright laughter of myriad birds; when we haven't felt much like walking it has always been the colours and chorus, the babies and the antics of the birds that have changed our 'drudgery' to joy. Sweet little reminders of God's amazing creation.

Day 14: Villalcazar to Caldadilla de la Cueza 22.8kms

That was a tough one. Writing days later is even harder to remember the sequence of happenings. The last part of this day was a long stretch of 17+kms in 30+ heat with very little shade. Ken slay swarms of flying insects, in the process cracking one of his lightsabers, but it all seemed interminable. We dragged into the village and found an oasis to stay in. The night was not so pleasant as I was very ill, however we didn't seem to have an alternative but to move forward. We have as a result of that day some lovely French ladies as friends though they speak no English, and us, no French.
